Customized Bidding

Let's say you are generally involved with HVAC estimating and you have been going back and forth between a couple o take-off screens.  This does not hurt you and cost you much time but the thought that maybe you could create a Customized Take-off Pad that could save on this would be a good thought!

It will now be possible with our new release to create a Customized Take-off Pad that could do just that!

How does this work?

You can literally within our databases create a Customized Specification for a given mechanical estimate.  Let's say you were estimating an HVAC Heating System and you had a combination specification like 2" and down is Copper and 2-1/2" and up is Steel.

We provide you a utility that will set the specification for just that so when you select this Customized Specification all you need to do is select the fitting and the size and our Estimating System chooses the right material specification for you!

This could be a huge time saver and it is also a great way to zero in on your typical customers who have specific types of materials that they commonly use for their projects.  The Take-off and set-up gets much easier and it can be saved for future use on any other projects that come up for that particular customer.

Can they be saved?

YES!  We have created some of these systems for you in the new release of our Total Mechanical Estimating System and you also have the ability to create AND save your own within your program.


Once saved, all you need to do when you want to use a Customized Take-off Pad is choose that from the main menu and then select the Customized System that you want to use.


The set-up of the Customized Systems is covered in the Advanced Estimating Training, and though very simple to accomplish, it does require some training to completely understand.  This is just another way we are helping you do your job quicker and better with Emjay Systems Total Estimating System!

What are the item I can pick?

This is a great question, and this is still growing as we continue to make it better and better with new upcoming releases.

Our feedback from our users in our testing was it was much easier to use than our competitors, which by the way, we've been told was so complicated that they didn't even use it!

We believe our system will function perfectly without it, and we also believe that our system works so easily that the motivation to require this becomes diminished, however, some of our potential users do like this feature and we will continue to make it work seamlessly!

Currently, you can pick the material type, copper, steel, etc, you can pick the system type, grooved, solder, etc., you can pick the valve you want to use, and you can pick the hangers. All of these then are defined by size as you select in take-off!

We are excited to be offering this as a solution, and we are also excited about the challenges that is offers for us to make our system a world class mechanical estimating system.  To be able to choose the right choices and have them create the system that you want is awesome!

This will enable you to choose and name a system by a customer if you want!  For Example, it could be "DuPont RO Water" and all you need to do is choose the parts that match and it set and ready for every time you do a take-off under that specification!
