Who are we really?

In this business, there are really three types of developers.  The first one is a consolidator and their purpose in life if to buy up enough software companies to make sure you have limited choices, and to make sure you pay dearly for their offerings because of it. 

The second is a software development company that was born out of need and has found a way to provide you with an okay solution to you estimating problems. 

The last one has been born out of contracting, solving needs as they arose, fixing problems, and providing a solution for themselves first and then trying to help others with what they have discovered.

We fall in line with the last one!  Completely!

Managing Risk

What is the true variable in every bid, assuming we all do a good take-off, and we will talk about that later.  Where is the true risk in this business?

Isn't the true risk the amount of labor that it takes to complete the project?  Yes!  If you go over on your labor you loose money, it's really that simple!

Your competitor has to buy the same footage of pipe, the same AHU, the same subcontractors most likely will be used, and ultimately the same General Contractor will run the project. 

The only variable is how long will it take YOU to install the project!  That is the area we feel we help the most, trying to help you with trade related information and teaching you how to manipulate it to your advantage.

Our Management Team has done this for years, and when you have a problem or you have a unique situation, we are here to help!

Experience

Have you ever had a technical problem with your software solution?  Have you ever had a desire that you wanted something changed in the program? Did you ever have something happen that you couldn't figure out why?

We all have had these situations, and the solution was, the software is not changing and you needed to change the way you are currently working.  You either changed or you found a way to work around it.

You will find that we built our system around the way contractors think, work and estimate.  Not the way a software operates the easiest!

The other thing you will find is with a viable reason to change something we will do whatever it is needed to help you solve your problem. 

After all, that is why we created Emjay Systems to begin with, was to help you with your job and make things easier!

Contractors or Developers?

If you asked people on our team, WHO we are?  Most of us would say we are contractors, that's our business and that is what we do!

Developers?  Yes we do develop software solutions, and actually we are quite proud of the fact that we have found ways to make people's lives, other contractor's lives, easier!

Given the chance to go out in the field and solve a problem or sit behind a computer and type in code?  Let's not go there!

To us there is nothing more satisfying than to have a contractor call us with a particular problem, something that has been costing him hundreds of hours per year, and we develop a solution that gets it done in minutes!

Our solutions are easy to use and can vary from very complicated to easy depending on the application.  That is exactly the reason we are in this business and plan to stay in this for some time to come!
