Hardware Options

Surface Pro 4

Our system has been designed to make your life easier.  Technology will make you work go quickly and it will help you limit the mistakes.  Have you ever wished you could take that desktop out to the jobsite and finish your take-off there, figure a change order, or do a quick estimate in your customers office?  Well ... That time has arrived ... we designed this system to run on a computer tablet, we prefer the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, but others could be used too if you prefer.

Touch Screen Monitors

Don't buy a monitor any more if it's not a touch screen!  There are so many things that could be accomplished with a simple touch.

We designed our system to make good use of 2 full sized monitors, and when we set them up we use Planar Touch Screen Monitors.  They are affordable and have provided us with good service and support.

When you are doing "on screen" take-offs the second monitor is pretty much required so you have a good amount of space to work.  This makes your take-off and working very productive. 

If you don't use 2 now, you will never go back to one after you do!

Keyboards, Take-off and Mice

Go with cordless options always!  When you are trying to work with drawings, and books and other items that can get in the way, it is nice to be able to move things around.

We prefer the Scale Master Pro XE for a roller take-off option that feeds into our system, very nicely.  It makes take-off from paper drawings go very quickly and seamlessly with our system.

Logitech K360 Wireless Keyboard is very good and works pretty good for our system, and the Logitech Touch Mouse T630 is a very reliable choice too.

Mobility and ease is important when you are trying to keep you productivity up.  You will pay yourself with hours saved in your bid efforts!

Accessories

Protect your equipment, protect your equipment and protect your equipment!  Use a drop resistant cover for your Surface Pro - we chose Urban Armor Lightweight Cover and it has done an excellent job!  There are a few other things that will help you get by and be more productive.  Make sure you get a hub for your Microsoft Surface Pro 4 - it will allow you to connect all the monitors and devices, also you will want a docking station for this unit as well.

Software Partners

We have several partners that we will encourage you to use for many reasons.  There are many, many good options out there that support our Total Mechanical Estimating System very well.  Bluebeam Extreme is one of those options.  This software will help you handle PDF's very well and manipulate them as well.  This program is also a small CAD option too that can help you in your offerings for your customers.

We will also need to install the on screen software that is required with the on screen take-off option.  This software and any others that will be required are included in your purchase price of the system.  It is our hope that the value of our system with everything included will far surpass any other options currently out there.
